My dear bro asked me if i wanned to build him a nice tube screamer clone for him.
I never really liked these pedals, so im not an ekspert i how thesse should sound at their best.

So could anyone hook me up with at layout for a great sounding tubescreamer pedal?
It would be a great help.

Thanks and cheers from denmark!!!!

Take a look over at tonepad.com, Generalguitargadgets.com or Diystompboxes.com
in the gallery. Should find at least one at each place.

I built one of these with the Mosfet mod, http://www.buildyourownclone.com/overdrive2.html
I cannot say which OD circuit is "best", they all bring something different, plus they're dependent on the player.
My recommendation is for you to find out what'chyo bro digs, hit youtube, search Overdrive pedals and spend a day there.

The only two circuits I haven't played through are the Zen and the Klon ... plus or minus the incessant onslaught of OD builders.
Of all the OD pedals I've owned I really like the Sky (Baby) Blue OD.

I've built 3 of these now and all have sounded great. Use a 20k-W for the tone. Not as much usable sweep on the 25k Linear.

I built a few based on the CJOD/Grandlaff affair with PCBs John Lyons whittled for me. I gave 'em to associates
that liked the Ibanez pedal and they're still on their pedalboards if that's any indication.
Beavis' site has a versh without the fore and aft buffers he calls "YATS". The key IMO is the Burr-Brown IC and 5mm LEDs and switchable diode strings for changing the punchiness of the distortion.

I have an OD I like from OM Labs in Singapore which basically yet another damned TubeScreamer but it doesn't sacrifice as much bass as is typical and it stays clear of mushy
over saturated craptone. I don't remember which IC they used but do a search at FSB.org
for the OM Labs Sahasrara OD as we dissected that puppy about two years ago.

Noel Grassy.

What I'd like to know is where people are getting that sexy colored copper clad boards. All I can find is brown and mustard.

Where are you finding brown copper clad? True brown or tan?
The blue stuff I got on ebay.
There is red also but it's $$.

I make my own vintage looking brown stuff with thin copper
clad sandwiched with NOS phenolic sheeting.
