request: help with halifax Z or hofner Z (fuzz and wah)

Post by joegagan »

anyone have any experience with the halifax Z or similar hofner Z? ~approx 67 or 68 i believe.
i have one in for repair and i want to verify the wires are run correctly etc., it has had some dodgy repairs done to it.

no schematic online that i can find.

thank you!

jim to the rescue, thanks very much! i owe ya one.

this is same series exactly, the only good photos i have seen, this will help a lot.

had to order a 50k switched 16mm pot , the original 25k switched was toasted, the little rivets holding it together were broken. pretty sure i can make the 50k work with some resistor tricks.
if anyone has or knows where i can get the 25k siwtched pot in the photo above, please let me know! -- j

Wow, thank you, that is much better than what I ordered, both the 22k (was settling for 50k), and the look is much more correct for the pedal.
Much appreciated.
