Just bought a vintage 72 Hammond!!!!! Parts orgasm!

Post by digdown2001 »

Hey guys,
Just scored a complete 72 Chicago, Il Hammond, complete with Leslie and spring reverb. I won't say what I paid, it's embarrassing....
One look into it and I've got a 73 Rola, original working Leslie, and a beautiful condition spring reverb, not to mention over 100 trannies, sprague orange drops everywhere, and a multitude of other goodies..... I haven't even bothered to check the pots yet....
A question to you who are experienced with breaking down Hammonds, any parts I should zero in on????
Maybe a tough question??
Anyway, thanks guys......everything in it will be sold....
Steve

I am, the outer parts aren't in good shape. An old retiree owned it, foot pedals are busted, keys are missing, there is swelling on on end of the frame. I considered rebuilding it, but bottom line, it's better to part out than to repair, too much work involved and the parts are SOOOOO expensive!

If it's not a B-3, C-3, or an A-100 it's probably not worth that much. Those are the ones the organ guys want.
