It does appear we've reached the proverbial bottom of the barrel with NOS transistors bearing classic part numbers.

I bought a load of Mullard OC81M on eBay recently that turned out to be fake. The sleeves looked perfect. Fucking annoying, man.

Well that fucking sucks, man! So the sleeves were placed over some other transistor type?!?

Yep. You could barely tell, but I had some confirmed real ones to do side-by-side. They also performed consistently like shit despite a wide range of specs--that's what got me investigating in the first place. First time I've been burned, though, so I guess I'm lucky in a sense.

The old Newmarket Transistors factory building was demolished in the last 2 years and had been empty for a while. So nobody’s going to be able to use the story that they visited the site and found a stash hidden away in some corner. There are no corners now!

I’m not looking for mullards 75 and shit just ones I can play around with for some builds I’m doing for myself. I wish not to use langex or whatever it’s called.
