klon klon balls mixup

Post by jerms »

had a quick bit of fun again in the NW on tuesday, here's silver klon vs gold klon vs dr balls klone!

the test rig was esquire > pedals > harvard > MD421 > UA 2-610 > pro tools.... unfortunately, the audio got pretty squashed :hmm:

Nicely done Jim. Shows off each pedal really well. Im digging that dr. balls Klone. Seems to have a bit more fuzz on tap, from what i can make out. Happy new year Jim. :)

That fender Harvard sounds like buttah! We only had the volume at like 2-3. I thought the balls klone held its own pretty well. The clean boost/no gain setting was pretty much identical to the real klons but it did have more gain and slightly less transparency as you inched up the gain control. Jerms seemed to think it had something to do with the taper of the pots.
