not much between them, the vintage one sounds a bit hairier/fuzzier to my lugs anyway, thanks again

the yellow one was definitely a bit louder too..... i had the D*A*M cranked but the yellow still had about a 6th of a turn left on it..... otherwise the differences are pretty minimal.... the yellow maybe a hair wilder.....

Put ol' yeller against the new yellow one with OC75s. Mine is wilder and louder than I remember my first issue DAM Sola MKIV being.

Didn't you bridge the volume limiting resistor of the yellow one?
Everything is transitional.

Nice!

BTW - If your ye olde MKIV is stock it should have less output volume than the D*A*M/Sola not more.

Jim told me that he had indeed bypassed the limiting resistor. Can this be done on the new MK IVs as well cap?

yeah i bridged the resistor.... i do it on most of the MKIII/MKIV types i have, as few come near unity.... the D*A*M MKIV tho has not been modded and is definitely above unity.... kudos to the cap'n for getting the colorsound MKIV nice and loud!!!! :crackjam:
