here we have a real oddity from EHX.... a strange axis fuzz!! there's no internal circuit board, everything's point to point wired..... i traced it out and it is a 2 transistor muff fuzz with a big muff tone stack tacked on with a makeup gain transistor added on the end.... surprisingly sounds very similar to a fuzzrite.....

That's a curious one. A true PTP EHX with a weird circuit - could it have been some sort of prototype?
Sounds nice and trashy, light on the sustain - dig it!

A real neat job on the wiring, too. For some reason I always pictured a team of trained monkeys (some with wings and little round hats, like in "The Wizard of Oz") working on the EHX assembly line, but that's a fine piece of work.

yeah who knows what the story is on this one.... the tan resistors are the identical to the ones in my perfboard muffs.... the pot with the switch has a date of the second week of may 1970.... so mid 70 production for this thing i'd bet.... wonder if it was an early tryout for the muff fuzz????
