Monolith Bug Bears, Mod. Triangle circuit - ALL SOLD
EDIT:
SOLD These Triangle Bugs have all been adopted by surly DAMites SOLD
I've finished tuning up the prototype for this batch and am really happy with it. I'll start populating the circuit boards for this batch of four tomorrow. The cases are powder coated & screen printed, ready to roll.
These are finished in a two tone Medium Blue / Psychedelic Orange Peel style. Snazz.
White screen print / Oxblood Davies knobs. Pizzazz.
Circuit is based around a well regarded Triangle Muff variant, sporting Fairchild BC184C transistors selected for a little hotter Hfe (550-600) than the first batch - still well within the realm of moderate / classic Muffdom. I used the same Telefunken OA128 diodes as the original Violet Bug bears, and general tuning is meant to keep things fat but with a little more high-mid cut & sizzle than the Violet Bugs.
Here's a low qual noodle snippet recorded at low volume just to give a reference for tonal differences between the Bugs so far. As you'll see, they aren't "night & day" different, but the Violet leans toward warm & wooly, while the Triangle sports a little clearer voice.

Re: Monolith Bug Bears, Modified Triangle circuit
Both sound great, Mike. I usually prefer a Ram's Head muff over any other variety, but that Triangle sounds really lovely. Great look, too.

^^^Both look and sound killer!
