I bought this from Dave in 2008 when he placed it up for grabs in an eBay auction.

I have nicknamed this baby "420" (after the date it was built.) :tu:

Here is the original eBay item description for this item:

"This is a vintage 1970's Colorsound case (apparently it was a swell pedal) that has been totally re-built into a Wah pedal that is along the lines of the very early Sola Sound wah/wow pedals.

It features a hand cut stripboard circuit loaded with high quality carbon composition resistors, BC components and a two matched NOS Mullard capacitors, a custom hand made “Colorsound specs” Inductor (made by Stuart Castledine), a specifically gain selected set of BC transistors, BC184L & BC182L all lovingly assembled in true Sola Sound style with single point grounding, Cliff audio jacks along the best stomp switch known to man, an Eaton Cutler Hammer DPDT. The wah potentiometer is a high quality Bourns piece that is the best option for good tone & long longevity that you could use in Colorsound style enclosure.

Tone wise it is a little different to a stock Colorsound Wah. You still have that huge sweep but the transition is somewhat smoother and not as abrupt from bass to treble. The frequency range seems way more extended over say that of a Cry-Baby or a Vox wah which makes a great wah to use with a heavily saturated or dark fuzz boxes and amps.

I acquired the enclosure many years ago now and was told when I received it that is was NOS and had never been used. It is certainly in truly excellent condition, I would say mint except for two tiny marks on the right hand side (see pics) personally I’d say its had a some use but very little at all."

It truely is an amazing piece of kit that will be moving on to a new home soon due to the mounting bills my wife has been racking up with her pregnancy of our second child.

:marx:

So I figured I would open up a spot for it in the "One-Offs" section for archiving purposes.
