Grease Box sound clip

Post by Philip » Fri Mar 19, 2010 10:24 pm

I've recorded 2 Grease Box demos.

The first one is for Dave to use when the pedals are good to go, this is the 2nd one which I did today...

:tu:

mod edit: one of these days Phil is going to learn how to use the youtube script properly..

Sounds fantastic....I love the harmony part that kicks in around 1:30.

What amp are you using Philip?
Smooth, dynamic, fluid violin like sustain, amp like characteristics, warm organic tonez - nope. A blind wolverine on PCP flying a fully loaded B-52 into the side of a volcano, the soundtrack to said event would be Stand Up and Shout by Dio - yes.

Here's the gear, settings etc...

Grease Box volume at half way, overdrive at 3 o'clock.

Used Danelectro DC59 reissue - Grease Box - in to 1966 Vox 715 set crystal clean. Mic'd with SM57 in to PC running cool edit where I added reverb etc.

Bass is the Danelectro guitar - Ampeg Sub Blaster pedal - 1966 Vox 715 set clean. Mic'd same as above.

Drums are a combination of Charlie Watts and Ginger Baker playing at the same time, chopped, edited and looped to suit my needs.

Hand claps by me x 3.

Starting from scratch, this 2 minute clip took around 3 hours to complete! :freak: :oldlol:
