Marshall SupaFuzz with MKI circuit

Post by theemadcap1 »

So, Mr. Nightraven...
Let's see pictures of the goods...!
That is hands down one of the coolest pedals Graham has, that I was lucky to check out...! (though, his MKI is godly!!) :freakout:
Have you thought of loaning it to Cap'n Main so's he can have a wee looky...?
I think he has checked out the other 2 pedals.
What do you think of it? How does it sound?

Graham's was a little more mids and high mids than Stu's clone of his, that I have.
Not sure that the MKI circuit was used in very many SF pedals. Graham's and this 'newest' one are both labeled 'Marshall', Stu's is not..it could have been a true "proto-type" that could have had any company logo on there... Though, I think Gary say's he only made a couple with this circuit, they liked the MKII circuit model better. Interesting that my MKII SF came from the Netherlands, I wonder how they all found their way there?

Get this fuzz pron out there! :badteeth:

I got other pictures of it on my other computer... Aside from Graham's being minty, they appear from the outside identical.

i was waiting for a couple of weeks until i'm back in the UK with a proper camera, recording set up and a real guitar to do the data dump :hihi:
i have to say i can't say for sure what the sound is like. the guitar i have here doesn't have a working bridge pickup, so it's just Epiphone neck pickup action going on, but even so i am having a great time with the pedal!! it's a really addicting pedal to play through, i just love that ripping sound as the gate opens and the way that chords just transform as they decay. i thought the filter control seemed useless for now because of this particular guitar that i was using, so i just kept it all the way up, but it's cool that when you turn it down it not only gets darker but it lowers the gain as well :hmm: i guess this is kind of a BS post since i'm saying the stuff that everybody else has been saying already but this is my first MKI circuit and i love it to bits (and i'm sure i will continue to love it even after the honeymoon period) :hihi:
the Cap'n is welcome to take the pedal for a spin (send me a PM and we'll work it out) and i'll go ahead and take the pedal porn pics today :tu: :tu:

Can you read the values of the polystyrene capacitor on the right side of the board and the one on the footswitch?
Condolences, the bums lost!

on the board: the third mini component from the right? capacitor with the transparent-y ends? it's 4700pF.
on the switch: can't really read everything on it. the only visible stuff is "4700" and underneath "5%". don't know if that's the value or not because there's no unit indicated and any other stuff written on it i can't see because it's up against the switch. would need to desolder it to get a proper look.
