GM Fuzz Up FM-3B
It's rare that we get to post new stuff in this thread anymore, as I feel like between all of us
we have displayed most of the fuzzes made from 1962-1980...
but this week I scored an original GM Fuzz Up FM-3B!
Haven't had a chance to get her going yet, but there was this little surprise hiding inside:
I'll figure out pot dates and all that good stuff soon///

Re: GM Fuzz Up FM-3B
the transistors just say,
"TR-51"
so, not sure how accurate this is, but the pot dates this to 1963!
which would make sense,
as it's an FZ-1 copy and also they were located in Detroit
and Gibson/Maestro was in Kalamazoo.
sweet.

I think there's a mistake in that schematic. It shows the input going straight to ground before it hits the circuit, which should result in no sound.
Very interesting pedal though. My jerms FZ-1 is definitely my favorite fuzz, so I'm intrigued by all things FZ-1

Look again, that's showing the shield being grounded.Officer Bukowski wrote:I think there's a mistake in that schematic. It shows the input going straight to ground before it hits the circuit, which should result in no sound.

Re: GM Fuzz Up FM-3B
looks like a '61 date code on one of the caps. What are the codes on the electrolytics (6??6)?
