Does this look familiar ? related to some well known "classic" circuit ?
[EDIT] FWIW, I have spoken to a french builder (Jacques Charbit from "Jacques pedals") who got a Garen fuzz last month too (pure coincidence). His guess is that the transistors are AC128...

different transistors, similar sound... one pot and a weird battery were replaced by previous owner.

Yeah, too bad, would love to try it. How does this one sound?
Not sure it's similar to any of the classic circuits, but it's basically 3 cascaded gain stages followed by a selectable filter.
Not sure about the transistors, but they sure look a lot like SFT's to me.
