I have a Wallace XT series, no logo plate 2 x KT88 head. It's huge. I haven't heard it in a while as it needs a servicing - this reminds me I should take it to my guy soon. I think the range control (rotary switch) is a great idea for higher powered amps, sort of like the brilliant switch on an old 4 input Vox but with more settings. I remember it being kind of noisy but then again it has mostly original caps. It is also sort of frighteningly loud; when you turn up the treble and hear those transients, you realize that you could hurt your hearing with it.

You need to use BBCode with the direct link to the image inside the img tags, like thisombudsman wrote: ↑Mon May 07, 2018 5:44 pm Trying it another way...

Those links you posted won't work with the phpBB, although people can still click and see the pics.
A hosting site like imgur would be better, or directly attach the pics to your post.

thanks.
I wonder if "Naptaker" was a previous owner's last name. What a great name that is. Might change mine to that.

Yeah, I have a thing for odd tubes and big iron. But they don't get out much.
I have a Starmaker (Heathkit UK) combo also with 2 KT88s and I think even larger transformers than the Majestics in the Wallace. Just the power amp chassis of the Starmaker without the preamp, cabinet, or speakers feels like the weight of a 100 watt head.
I like these with a Bass VI (Jerry Jones) or 5 string bass (Rickenbacker with a high C string).
