Can anyone see any mods here (JCM800 content)?
I have my eyes on this 2203 from 1981. The seller says that there are no holes drilled but some "internal mods" although he couldn't identify them. I don't know shit about shit except that the inputs aren't mounted to the board. If it's a 1981 it should be the same circuit as a JMP master volume, correct? Do any of you electric wizards see anything goofy here?

There are 3 beige resistors, those are replacements/changed

Viewing these on my phone, but it looks like it had a whole bunch of parts replaced, everything with a blue mark on it, it seems.
The remaining red box caps look original to me, but the red caps that look like Xicons would be replacements (I think) as well as the blue cap on V1A and electrolytic on V1B.
Also, like Jerms said, the tan carbon films aren’t original to the amp, as are the cement screen grid resistors.

It does look like the changed parts are marked with the blue stripe. Those are some good eyes Radiotron has! At least it's not a hacked up rat's nest in there. Is the rest of the amp in that clean of condition? I don't really see anything inside it that would scare me away from that amp. You'd know for sure if you could plug into it.
Here's a similar amp pic I found on the interwebz for a basic comparison of that era's builds.

Let us know if you pull the trigger man! I would love to try a JMP 2203

Thank you guys so much. The seller is about 2 hours from me so I'm going to mull it over. If he was closer I'd just go play it and hear what it sounds like. Hmm...

Also, it looks like someone desoldered all the wires to the preamp sockets when taking out the board to do those mods, wiring layout isn’t as neat as you usually expect from a marshal of this era.
That white wire was added to the board as well, not sure what it connects to but it doesn’t seem original to me.

Thanks Robert. I think I'm going to sit this one out. If it was in town I'd go give it a listen but I'll wait for something cleaner to come along.

I'd bet those preamp wires were just lifted up when the board was lifted to get underneath it. Why go to all that effort to unsolder and then resolder them. Is the seller the same guy that that had the mods done? How does he describe the amp's tone?
