Wow... that’s some tubes! I’ve only a few of various types..

How do you rate the Raytheon 6v6’s Robert? I’ve never used one?
Would love to try a Raytheon 12AX7 black plate

Hi Doc, sorry for the late reply, busy times here.
The Hytrons are a very punchy tube with plenty of clarity, works great in a ‘dark’ amp like the 5E3, not so much in an already bright amp.
They were just too much in my Fender Bronco. I have a Sylvania 6V6GT/G in there now, such a sweet sounding tube

Love the Marconi ECC83 btw, never seen on of those

Magnatone/Da Vinci amp showed up today running a pair of 6V6GTs marked as "Andrea", which I'm assuming is Andrea Radio Corp. Logo like so:



Only had a quick play but sounding pretty nice so far. Anyone come across these before? Can't seem to find much info out there.

I’m no tube boffin but they look like the old Tungsols. I’ve a pair in my GA-6.
I’m also not sure whether the Tungsols were rebranded? Everything else was so.. maybe so!

^ Yeah, I figured they were rebrands but I think they might be RCA. Andrea Radio Corp had a relationship wih RCA and this Reverb ad for an Andrea amp (which looks very cool!) has the same Andrea 6V6 tubes listed as rebranded RCAs (according to manufacturer codes).

In any case, they sound pretty sweet. I've got a pair of Ken-Rads I might throw in for comparison's sake.

Yeah, they are great tubes. But these Andreas are making a pretty strong case for staying put. I've had a chance to have more of a play with the Da Vinci and I'm loving it so far.
