Re: Appreciation for Valves / Tubes
Alright, I'll play. I love tubes as much as I love transistors though.
The stash… Some of the highlights
Haltron labeled Raytheon, Sylvania and NU 6V6GT/G’s (CV511) from the 40’s Hytron 6V6GTY’s, bright and punchy cleans… Marconi 6V6G’s, pretty much the other end of the 6V6 spectrum, these have such a sweet, soft sound Sylvania 6L6GAY’s, great sounding tubes, just be careful with plate/screen voltages

Wow... that’s some tubes! I’ve only a few of various types..
How do you rate the Raytheon 6v6’s Robert? I’ve never used one?
Would love to try a Raytheon 12AX7 black plate

^ Fuck, Robert! What a stash! Those Hytrons and Marconis are just beautiful.
To me, valves really are the perfect symbol of a golden age of manufacturing. The consistency and reliability was just amazing.

Re: Appreciation for Valves / Tubes
Recently purchased a Vox AC15 50th Anniversary hand wired head and got this EZ81 for the rectifier
LtoR
International C, Baldwin branded RCA, Sylvania black plates and top/bottom RCA 7189
Also needed an EF86 for the normal channel (far left). Supposedly Mullard Blackburn branded GE. The Mullard V1 and RCA black plates V2&3 I had in my AC30CC.
The Idiot I bought it from (didn't know the difference from a metal screw and a wood screw) Had no Idea these Mullard, International C branded were in this. The rest are odds and ends from the AC30 giving me pairs to play with.LtoR

Don't make me assume my ultimate form

Those Master Series are nice valves.
Never argue with an idiot, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience
