My favorite superfuzz

Post by redeyeflight »

Here she is. Beat to shit. Sounds incredible. My favorite of maybe 5 superfuzzes I've owned. Story goes it was my buddy's step dad's pedal. He had it modded to put the tone switch on the top of the pedal. It was acting up and Jerms fixed it, un-did the mod, and found a nice little silver button to put where the hole had been. This is when we found out how awesome the pedal was to begin with. I had a standing order that if my bud ever sold it I'd be the first one he called. Fast forward to many years later and I see the pedal on ebay! Distinctive from its silver button on the top. I immediately called my friend asking him why he didn't call me first and he replied, "I'm not selling it on ebay, what are you talking about?!" Turns out he lent it to someone he kinda knew at a studio he recorded at in Brooklyn, forgot about it and the dude was now selling his pedal on ebay. Thankfully at a crackpipe price so it hadn't sold yet. Anyways, now it's mine. Happy to have it, and I love it. If anyone ever finds one of these with the similar button transistors don't think about it just buy it. Theyre killer!!!

It was meant to be yours, Dan!
Lucky you saw the button. As for the dude trying to sell a pedal that was lent to him, that's an A-grade douchebag move. Who knew there were dicks in Brooklyn?

Accoring to my friend the dude who tried to sell his pedal said he "forgot" that the pedal wasn't his. I think he had it up on eBay for like an $800 BIN. Who knows how long it had been sitting there! He's lucky my friend is a nice guy. I certainly wouldn't have been as forgiving...

Sweet, and those diodes only seem to be no these early second series pedals.

just undid the mod and swapped out all the bad electrolytic caps.... most of these need to have the electros replaced...
