70s Ram's Head Big Muff Question
Question: If you found an early 70s Big Muff Pi Ram's Head for $300, would you jump on it?
I've never really had much luck with muff type pedals, but I hear this is the one (next to a triangle).
I was thinking about a D*A*M Ram's Head a while backthen the Captain stopped making em and the prices for a used one got up in the realms of the AIG bailout package.
What say you all?
I saw a triangle muff go on evil bay a couple of weeks ago for $150 (but didn't see it until after the auction had closed)!!!!

Re: 70s Ram's Head Big Muff Question
I wondered that myself. For $200 I would jump without even thinking about it, although it's shipping that's pushing it to $300. I've never had any luck with muffs -- I've heard people sound sublime with them, but most just sound like a buzzsaw.Sickle wrote:Seems like a decent price to me as long as it works ok. What's up with the knob shafts poking through the knobs? If it suffered an impact the board may be damaged..

At $300.00 I would not jump, unless it was an ultra clean and all original example. The one in the picture would not make me jump. Now if it was a D*A*M I wouldn't just jump I would do cartwheels and back flips!

...and while you were doing all the calisthenics, I'd be sending the cash for the thingTommy1966 wrote:At $300.00 I would not jump, unless it was an ultra clean and all original example. Re: 70s Ram's Head Big Muff Question
I have not see DAM Ramhead on sale for a while.
I think the going price range was $450 to $ 550...
There was one for $800ish too....
I am a BIGGEST sucker on the Ebay and get ripped off all the time... I just can not help myself.
I paid more than $300 for my Ramheads . . .
one in the picture is not in perfect condition, but if it was on the Ebay for $300, I am sure some one will snatch it quick.
$300 seems OK to me... but as I said... I am not good at buying thing at the good price. I would make horrible investment adviser...

I'd just as soon pick up a MJM Foxy Fuzz and use the extra cash for something else if you just want a good sound and don't care about the vintage vibe.

I was wondering if that one would sell. It's been modded too, so that seems a bit steep.
