Not necessarily, mine has a 2-way toggle - low or high gain.

I've been looking at one of these too. I'd definitely have to get those sexy Neve console knobs on it!

Ill never sell mine. I got the first 24V version when it came out and I play it very single day. Funny enough, I did dime a DI guitar into an old Neve 1073 pre-amp the other day and it does that thing that the Broadcast and Colour Box set out to do. Couldn't help plugging in a Strat for some clean spanky Nile Rodgers tones as that's what he used with 1176's. I've also played the Broadcast with a P into a B-15 and its great for that too. The high pass feature alone is worth its weight in gold. The germanium transistor used is a Valvo OC45. If you were able to source the transformer i'm sure it wouldn't be hard to clone.

Day off work so a rare outing for the big board. Total overkill but so much fun. Today might be the day that I figure out how to use the echo system.

Trying to find a good solution for patch cables. I want something low profile that I can make myself, any better option than buying some switchcraft pancakes and cutting up an old lead?

I really like EBS flat patch cables but there are plenty of DIY options. Try Pedal Empire, in Brisbane. They have a heap of stuff: https://www.pedalempire.com.au/collections/cables
