That's a strange and beautiful film and I recommend it.

Came here to post a filthy diatribe about Quiet Riot: Well Now You're Here There's No Way Back. Wanna free link? PM me. Please don't. So I hate most metal, admittedly. But this ego-driven fake ninja fucknugget drummer getting the band back together and his crocodile tears and demolition of the poor sap replacement singer are so far removed from the intelligence and wit of the above that I regret it already.

And you know what? The docu didn't mention Slade, the source of their two only half-good songs. Not once.

Music biz, eh.

EDIT: oh wait. In the final credits, the drummer has married the movie director.

^ God, KK, now I want to see it. Ego-driven fake ninja fucknugget drummers are usually compulsive viewing…
The Edwyn Collins doco, "The Possibilities Are Endless" is great. Always liked him, think he's criminally underrated as a guitar player, and he's also a vintage gear freak. What's not to love? Great story, too.
Along similar lines I really want to see the Glen Campbell doco, "I'll Be Me":

Amazing guitar player - all before he ever became THAT Glen Campbell - and another great story.

Sound On Sound mag had a decent interview with Edwyn Collins a while ago. Some good gear porn too.

The redemption of Bobby Liebling of Pentagram. Pretty sweet little movie.

I know it's a bit off topic, but at the same time, kind of on topic. Just saw Love and Mercy. Movie about Brian Wilson's life. Really liked it! The acting was excellent, the story was also amazing. Paul Giamatta did a great job. Highly recommend it. :tu:

^ Cool. I'd been wondering about that one, Scott. Along the same lines, I saw "Get On Up", the James Brown bio-pic, on a plane a few months back and really liked it. They got the Vox guitars and amps right, too…

Pitchfork recently released a documentary on Slowdive's Souvlaki

and one of my favourites lately - Such Hawks, Such Hounds - a doco on the heavy music with Earthless, Kyuss, Dead Meadows, Sleep and MANY more getting mentioned/interviewed
