I think it depends lot what kind of music (and how loud) band play and how much player want
hear details, and how good is soundguy :hmm:
I can say I hear my modded Les Paul much better through band/amp/pedal noise,
before tone was lot muddier.
Les Paul actually is complicated live axe, because overall fat tone, it tend sound alone same loud as rest band, drives nicely but you'll get tasty cleaner sounds easier with the Strat and Tele
And R8 / R9 example plays louder and ballsier than regular LP Standard, no matter what pickups are on

Can be a pain the first time around. Need a hot aoldering iron with a chisel tip, a razor blade and some needle nose pliers. You hear the joint, then slip a razor between the cover and pickup. Use the pliers to hold the razor. I’ve made the mistake of trying to hold the razor with my fingers. Shit gets hot! The solder won’t stick to the razor once it’s cooled. Just pull the razor out and you should be able to get the cover off. If the pickups are heavily potted, it makes things a little tougher.

As far as I know, I've only tried the long version.
Condolences, the bums lost!

James(Rewind Electric), the author, is a fantastic winder. I have a set of his Low Winds and they’re one of my favorite sets.
