I also swap out the pots and wiring harnesses on all my guitars. Those factory pots usually just sound like they are on full or on off. The higher quality audio pots give you all the in between sounds. One you begin to hear the nuances of the other settings you will start playing with volume and tone on 7 or 8 and adjust for different parts of the song on the fly. Especially, with really high quality pickups!

I see Lollar sells them now! ( I just couldn't resist  )

In the 4 or 5 years since I last rewired a guitar, there are so many more places sell them prewired now than they did several years ago. I see many of the pickup builders now offering them. I've had good luck with them from RS Guitar Works. https://rs-guitarworks.myshopify.com/co ... grade-kits

You may want to ask whomever you buy pickup's from who they recommend for an upgrade kit.

Don't know anything about his products, but the man is downright weird. Also some of his "theories" on electronics he presented on another forum were a bit unconventional.

It's pretty simple stuff, so I'd encourage anyone to try it out themself. And if you feel uneasy doing it, have a friend do it for you. I think with the pre-made harnesses you're paying quite a bit for not a lot. :hihi:

I have had great luck with the RS kits too.

Agreed. I've changed pickups, wires, caps and pots on my guitars over the years without incident, and my soldering "skillz" are certainly not what anybody would ever describe as "mad". It's kinda fun doing it yourself.
