Re: Tele Talk
^ I think with parts guitars the value will stay pretty much constant. That's made from good quality parts (Lollar pickups are great additions) so it'll hold it's value. I've never played a compound radius neck so I'm not really sure about that, but the price is probably what it's worth and I doubt you'd lose money if you wanted to flip it. Definitely worth a play.

Japanese reissues can be great, but also quite inconsistent I’ve found.
Fullerton ’52 reissue if you can find one for a good price? (or a ’52 reissue from any year for that matter)

I have had a few Teles pass through my hands and of all of them, I kept a Nash tele with rosewood board. It is a really nice player. You can often find them for a good price and I think the resale would be better than a parts-o-caster, as you have the name on the head stock and certain expectations that go along with the brand name.

Re: Tele Talk
This is a Fred Stuart Blackhawk I had. It was a real nice player and a solid, beefy neck. He winds his own pickups and cuts everything from scratch. I sold that in Japan to a tele fanatic. I would get another Blackhawk if I ran across one on the used market. My only complaint with the guitar was the fret work.
Here is a parts-o-caster I built. I used Lollar Charlie Christian pickups and USACG body and neck. The hardware and finish are by Callaham. I put a fair amount of money into it to get it how I wanted it. I would probably take a huge hit trying to resell it and I refuse to part it out because it is such a beautiful playing and sounding guitar.

Re: Tele Talk
I like this thread. In theory I think other guitars are really cool but in practice I think telecasters are all I want to play. I have two right now and I can't believe I don't have more.

Re: Tele Talk
Oh yes, Fred Stuart winds the best tele pickups I've come across. I have an underwound set (bridge 6k, neck 5.5k) in my Nocaster that I love. I've owned lots of electrics, but I finally ended up at just my one tele. I just never really need anything else. I do hope to grab an old fully-hollow Gretsch one day, but the tele covers every other sound I can think up.

Re: Tele Talk
I've played this hamer t-51 for a while. i like it good enough but I've never been shy of mistreating it and i think i finally broke the truss rod. i'd love to ditch it for something new but i think i might like it again with a new neck and maybe paint the body.
interesting factory pickup routing. i took out the neck pup and put another tele bridge pup in the middle position.
