The USA made P90s in my Elitist Casino are super sweet sounding. Could be the guitar as a whole just sounds really great...never tried any other pickups in the Casino. Not as ballsy as my Greco P90s, but I chalk that up partially to the difference between a hollow body and solid body.

Also, P90s sound great out of phase (or at least mine did).
I got a pair of 60s Gibson P90s in a LP Jr and they just happened to be OoP .... what a sound.

My SG Special is wired out of phase, for some reason. The solder joints on the pickups don't appear to have been messed with, but who knows. I thought about correcting it, but I like it as it is.devnulljp wrote:Also, P90s sound great out of phase (or at least mine did).

I am a fan of Gibson P90 pickups. I think the bridge P90 they make sounds pretty good. Like Dev said, you may want to check the pot and cap values but it is a nice stock pickup. If you go boutique, Lollar is probably one of the best. JM Rolph are also worth a look.
I would recommend upgrading the pots and caps regardless of what pickup you go with. RS Guitar works sells some nice upgrade kits that make a huge difference over stock pots and capacitors. Kind of pricey but worth it.

Im a fan of 60s era. I have a set of Bare Knuckle Nantuckets that do that early 60s LPJ grit just perfectly.
