Getting a Univox Phase 4 Hi-Flier was a major highlight for me! Maybe not a special guitar for many but wanted one forever, plays amazing.. Also finding a mint Elk Big Muff Sustainar in Tokyo which has since become my favourite Muff.. oh and finding out how amazing the Roland BeeBaa is, there's my top 3

Guitars and amps remained static for me this year, but quite a few fuzzes and other assorted pedals came and went. The main keepers for me were a bunch of mostly older MIJ Boss’ that I added to the collection. And I got hooked on the Supa MKI circuit...picked up three to shootout (Pigdog, Thunderbird, Jerms) but they all sound slightly different and now finding it impossible to part with any of them!

Top three
'76 Hiwatt SA212
'63 Fender champ steel. Not stupid rare or anything but it was 3 bills with the case and in C6 tuning it is a ton of fun.
1965
Not a great year for my neighbors though.

Neumann TLM 107
I had never owned a condenser mic before, it's been great for a bunch of different applications (so far have used it with vocals, room mic for drums, cello, and of course guitar). I had been relying on a SM57, SM58, and SM7b, so it has been a great addition.
I just realized I only bought two pedals this year (Brothers and KOT). Hopefully 2018 will be more fuzzy, though I have been eyeing some synths, mics, and a bass. I've been drooling at some of the fuzzes coming up on the forum lately.

It has been an epic fuzz year for me, finally.
Top of the heap winner is the Main built SOLA MKI.

Pretty much everything in the middle of this pic was acquired this year and is awesome. The Fryette power station is also gear of the year because it allows me to use the beta lead and the gro100 without causing permanent damage. The ECG baritone is pretty much the awesomest thing ever. Both clean and dirty, the clarity and punch is just amazing. Plus it makes fuzz sound like god talking. The Jerms and the Fenders aren’t new, but are gear of the year every year.

I went a little crazy with gear purchases, so this is very difficult. (And the year ain’t over yet!) However my Top 3 might be the ES-335, Belle Epoch Deluxe and (of course) The Sola Sound MkI!
