Cabinet simulators question
Just discovered these guys...Two Notes Audio Engineering while crawling the web, looking for 60's/70's Marshall amps demos
Anyone tried these Cabinet simulators (Torpedo live for example) ? Just wondering
Thanks
Raf

Re: Cabinet simulators question
I own the Torpedo Studio. Really overkill for my situations. I like it for the fact that it's got 2 seperate output which makes double tracking easier and the switchable ohms. I haven't even started messing with the high pass filters and such

Re: Cabinet simulators question
Thanks, are you also familiar with real cabinets recordings ?
Is it really close or just so convenient that it's good enough ?
Cheers

Re: Cabinet simulators question
Raf,
Torpedo (Studio or Live) is very good. However, it is difficult to set the level..."Digital" is not me gently reproduce the subtle changes. It is desirable to optically connect to Audio I / O if possible. ROYER 121 is a wonderful microphone, but rarely overlooks Over Road.
And when recording "FUZZ-SOUND" Torpedo can not reproduce "excessive" power amp drive. I can not use it unless I set it to a very normal setting. It's regrettable.

80% close. I still mostly record with a live cab because it's fun. It's fun to move the mic around. It's fun to feel the air pumping out of your live cab room.
