Chicago Music Exchange is one of my favorite shops anywhere. Can check their website to see what they have used and vintage.
If you like coffee, I'd recommend Intelligentsia.

Joe Segal's Jazz Showcase is an amazing place. It used to be on Michigan Ave but moved in the mid 90s to Plymouth Court between State Street and Clark St... Right downtown. I got to sit 10 feet from Elvin Jones when I saw him play there many years ago. If you're into jazz check it out.

Chicago is the coldest place I've ever been. I lived there for awhile (saw Nirvana at the Metro) and I was amazed by how the city just kept on moving even in the harshest conditions. It's not just cold. That huge lake and the fucking wind made it seem like hell on earth at times.
But it's a great city.

If you like deep dish pizza, you HAVE to go to Pequod's:
https://pequodspizza.com/
Chicago Music Exchange is also a must for any musician.
My favorite live venues are Empty Bottle, Schubas and Hideout so look at their calendars to see if anything strikes your fancy.
There are a TON of awesome breweries here. I HIGHLY recommend Half Acre. They have two locations. I like the new Balmoral location, but it's kind of out of the way. The other one is in Lincoln Square and there's a lot of other cool stuff there. https://www.halfacrebeer.com/
Other breweries that I recommend:
Dovetail (traditional German styles): http://dovetailbrewery.com/
Revolution: https://revbrew.com/
Food options here are off the charts. There's so much I can't even begin to make suggestions. It all depends on what you're looking for. I will point out the incredible BBQ spot called RUB (actually it looks like they officially changed their name to BBQ Supply Co.:
https://www.bbqsupply.com/
There's also an incredible place called Budlong that does Nashville-style hot chicken. Fucking amazing. Look that place up. There are a couple locations.

I thought this was about the band. Yep, I just destroyed this thread. I’m a fan of the original lineup, actually.
I have friends who might be in Chicago at the moment, funnily enough. At least one of them wanted to check out some jazz.
