The Fuzz Face is biased just a little colder than the MK1.5. The electrolytics are slightly smaller, but I don't think that makes much of a difference. The transistors are a different type, but other than that they're identical.

The Vox is based on the same topology, but it's set up differently and with different filters at the in- and output, so it's voiced differently.

I always thought the fuzzbug would have had a 100k volume pot, while the Fuzz Face seems to be based on an early MK1.5 with a 500k. :hmm:

I suppose if I wanted to be more accurate I should have said the Fuzz bug was made by Sola Sound with a 1.5 circuit in it for Dallas who had close associations with Arbiters who went on to make the Fuzz Face .

But it sounds a bit long winded

Just want to make sure you guys realize I was just chatting - not mud slinging or accusing anyone of copying / skullduggery . As far as I know Ivor Arbiter and Larry had huge respect for each other . When I was in my 20s Ivor took me to see Clapton at the Albert Hall and we got chatting - unfortunately , there was also free booze - I can remember very little about it

Aceness! Arrives in UK in September, is Fuzz Facing within a month or so.

Also the hand wah/tone control, or is that a different track and session? Ah, maybe I Don't Live Today?
