The Fuzz Face is biased just a little colder than the MK1.5. The electrolytics are slightly smaller, but I don't think that makes much of a difference. The transistors are a different type, but other than that they're identical.stella_blues wrote: ↑Mon Apr 02, 2018 2:37 pm So circuit wise, what’s the difference between a MK1.5, Fuzz Face and the Italian Vox tonebender, and what makes them all sound so different?
The Vox is based on the same topology, but it's set up differently and with different filters at the in- and output, so it's voiced differently.
I always thought the fuzzbug would have had a 100k volume pot, while the Fuzz Face seems to be based on an early MK1.5 with a 500k.
