Loller Charlie Christian - anyone tried?

Post by welshchris »

Anyone here try the Loller Charlie Christian tele neck pickup?
Thinking longer finger but might be something I’d like for my tele.

I have a matched pair (neck/bridge) of them in a modified Tele body. I really love them. Great clean tones but can still go high gain with a pedal and sound great. I would highly recommend them.
Never argue with an idiot, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience

Cheers, good to hear :)
I’m a bit torn at the moment.

Have a blade tele sized humbucker in the bridge and original neck PU at the mo.

I can’t decide what if I want a noiseless set, something like the Christian pickups or just stick a great set of regular tele pickups in (and live with the hum).
I mostly play humbucker equipped guitars at the moment so single coil hum does bug me a bit (guitar is fully shielded already).

It lived in C# standard with flatwound played mostly clean but I do occasionally like playing with dirt and there are some plans to gig in a band with fuzz.

I used to have a Firebird that had the best tone from a neck pickup that I've heard. The sound was like from a great strat pickup but with more beef. It also doesn't look too bad on a tele.
I got an Antiquity one to drop in the bridge position of an old Epi Olympic, but that might have to move on before I get around to doing the pickup swap.
Condolences, the bums lost!

In my humbucker guitars they're neck only pickups with Zombie Dust Silurian (a signature pickup they made for me), I'm really happy with it and works great for the slomatics stuff. Fat as hell but also punch and clarity.
Had a firebird once I put a Bareknuckle Mississippi Queen P90 into it was fantastic, the P90 hum at gain just started to annoy me.

I have some friends who can make a me killer standard vintage style tele PU, just really can't decide if I want that a CC style or maybe just go noiseless single coil.. Any noiseless PU experience? Was thinking even a lace tele seet
