Croatia really put in the work.

I'll refrain from making any predictions for the final now just to play it safe. :oldlol:

And some exceptional fouls. I was hoping England could hang on for the win, but I guess it wasn't our night.

despite their last two games going into ET, Croatia looked a lot less tired at the end

Come out with the right attitude and France will win it....unlike the Euros two years ago when France walked out thinking they'd already won it :smashed:

ARRIVAL OF FOOTBALL TO CROATIA 1873
http://www.xtratime.org/forum/114-croat ... ll%2A.html

Football in its current form was first played in Croatia in 1873 by a group of Englishmen who came to work on building a new factory in Rijeka. Croats however weren't too keen for the game. First public game was played in 1887 when a Royal Navy ship anchored in Zadar Harbor and English sailors played a match in front of Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh as well as large number of spectators. In the time afterwards public games played between Englishmen who found themselves in Croatia for one reason or another became more frequent and football itself became more popular among Croats.

First recorded event of a Croatian playing football happened in 1880 in Zupanja when a group of nine English experts for exploitation of Oak forests took some local boys to teach them the game and play in their pass time. A ball with which first games were played in Zupanja and its surrounding area has been saved up to these days.

These six guys founded the importand club HNK Hajduk Split 1911.

1984 ( or 1981) Hajduk Split beat Tottenham Hotspur with 2-1 in the UEFA Cup...

Upton Park Football Club won the second Olympic Summer
Games Football Tournament 1900 in Paris!

The Club was founded 1866 in London.

France came in second place with Club Francais, started 1890 in Paris.

At the third Olympic Summer Games, 1904 in St. Louis(!), a Canadian Club won, The Galt
Football Club!

Followed by two American Clubs(!): Christian Colleges Brothers:

And the Club St. Rose Parish. (But it seems that only three Clubs totally were taking part in the tournament...)

1908 i London, at the the fourth Games, Great Britain won!
