Attenuator Thread
I'm moving apartments and can no longer be full bore full volume with amps all the time so i'll be getting an attenuator soon to get me by when I need it. Need something capable of use with amps up to 100W RMS. Does anyone have recommendations for attenuators they like, and why?

I think Toneking are re-releasing their iron man big box.
It’s super pricey but... I hear it’s the real deal.

For a couple of years now I have a Fryette Power Station and I can't say enough good things about it.
The feel of the amp is there, even when the attenuation is more than it should.

Had an Alex. It was great. They’re now being manufactured and sold through Scumback Speakers.Coolhand78 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 24, 2018 9:56 am I have an alex's and its great, couldn't live without it...!

Had a Aracom as well. The Aracom hides nothing! A lot of attenuators will change the tone a bit, taking some high end and artifacts and compressing things a touch. Everything gets reproduced with the Aracom, good or bad.
They’re kind of old hat now though. Been a lot of attenuators released, although I haven’t tried anything since the 2 above.

Conceivably, yes. Problem being that i'm unaware of any vetted, good schematics for such a thing that suit my needs (100W), and i'm not personally familiar with the tech enough to assure myself that I wont be ruining any output transformers.

Doesn't badcat make an attenuator that can also act as a reamp/digital power amp? Those always looked cool to me.
