Is this right?

Post by innerflight »

Saw this on eBay and just wondered why? is it ethical for a builder to rehouse another builders work? - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Analogman-Di ... 1438.l2649

no issue to me. someone wanted the jext enclosure for something else and had the remains rehoused to flip.

All fine and dandy so long as it's stated what's what and who did what.

What. :smashed:

He rehoused a couple pedals for me that had rotting enclosures. I thought it was pretty cool of him.

Or someone wanted Jext in pedalboard friendly format and threw out the og big enclosure. And that is an issue indeed!

I think it is fine to re-house. Not sure it is cool to stamp your name all over it though... that now looks like an Analogman pedal.

Yeah. I just think it's funny for him to stamp and sign it.

Then again I don't see why people would call the muppet for stuff like this. I can't imagine it being cheap, with the stamps and all...

Hmmm yeah. Tough one.

Personally I think if I’ve got a defective pedal .. maybe I can’t source the parts for repair or yeah I just want to downsize the box I’d get it rehoused.

But I would be surprised if I asked Steve at pigdog to rehouse my Castledine fuzz ( maybe stu had a backlog of his own stuff that was priority ) and it came back with pigdog stamped all over it with no mention of Castledine in sight.

Has Analogman even written on the inside “Thunderbird” in that shot cos... if not I think that’s pretty disrespectful.
But that’s just my opinion.
I bet mike would be pissed if Dunlop rehoused his designs and put them in their MXR Way Huge lineup with a little rehoused on the inside but Big bold “Way Huge” graphics on the outside.

So there ... it wasn’t that tough after all.
Nope.. I don’t like .
