Re: A killing machine meets her maker.
Sorry to hear.
In our house, the cats are kings, I and the wife are mere servants
Heres a short sunshine story, a couple of days into September this year as I drove home after work in the evening.
I saw a black tiny critter on the middle of the road crossing with cars and trucks swooshing by.
So I parked my car and went to look.
There on the pavement lay a tiny maybe a 3-4 week old kitten scared and sick.
I tried to catch him but he runs over the crossing ... I rushing after stopping a truck waving like an idiot.
Well, his strength betrayed him. So I only had to pick him up in the grassy ditch.
I and the wife had said to each other that we would take no more cats.
As we were thinking of becoming some kind of Digital Nomads.
Well I took him home this was Friday night and the Vet would not see him until Monday.
But I called a second time on Saturday and demanded to come and show the little Guy.
He was sick ... with parasites and catfever and everything you could imagine.
Well after a couple of vet visits later hes the cutest little Panther you ever saw.
Healthy, fast and like a Tornado of claws teeth and kisses.

Re: A killing machine meets her maker.
Adopted a dog a few months ago. One of 7 siblings brought in with Mama, all of them named after Top Gun characters. We came home with Carole. She was immediately renamed to Ripley, because my wife vastly prefers Alien to Top Gun (rightfully so).
Had a black cat growing up as a kid, she was a vile bitch. We loved her. Finally mellowed out around 13 and got along great after many years of scarring. Wicca was 17 or so when she called it quits. Used to chase dogs, large ones, and beat them every time. One time she met her match, so we thought, as she quickly climbed up a tree upon meeting a very large doberman. Nay, it was not a retreat, she was merely seeking higher ground to attack from above.
RIP Goose. 21 years is a long time. Raise a glass!

It's always so hard losing a pet. Been thru it a few times and it just doesn't get any easier.
21 years is a proper run though.

Sad news, I had to get my dog put to sleep last year....absolutely heartbreaking to lose a pet...at least Goose had a great innings, hitting 20+ years is pretty damn good.
RIP Goose, may you chase many more mice over the Rainbow Bridge...
