At one point I had 3 81D MK II builds and they all are killer.
Where there any noticeable differences between the three?
Yes, there were but they were minor. They all had some nice searing lead tones and did not clean up as well as say, a Sola MK II. For me the best one was a metal can 81D, which I sold last of the bunch. It had this sort of cocked wah thing going on that really spoke to me. I would have to play in certain areas of the fret board and on certain strings to get it to come through but when I was in that zone you could really go on for hours just noodling around or jamming in a band setting.

I had both the white sleeve and the metal can versions. If you're into the cosmetics of transistors (which I was at the time) I splurged for the rare white sleeve version but in the end it was the metal can 81d that really did it for me. I am glad I sold them and I will probably never see another, as I have far different priorities in my life these days. I am sure glad I had them and got to experience the magic first hand.
Never argue with an idiot, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience

I had this one and one just like it from the Musictoyz batch. I don't remember there being too much difference between the two. Kept the one with my name. Once I clone it the perf board Supa Fuzz will be the next up on the block.
