LV, what happened to the old school Electric Eye and Loony 2?
The old Electric Eye got sold to my friend to pay for the new one, and the Loony 2 went to a forum member here.

The new EE is so amazing I didn’t need them!

My current 2065 is also getting sold as I have a new special order one coming from Ian with OC71 / 2G381 trannies.

ok, here goes - knob positions show more or less the 'best' settings

Image

from top left: my own build from 2012, w/ all mojo parts from Brook, plus NOS OC75 + 'big G' 2G381s, maybe i'm biased but it's still my favourite - sounds like Philip's demo of Dave's Sola Mk1. I had it in one of Brook's wedges originally, but got another with easier battery access. This was all the Mk1 I needed until a couple of years ago.

VPW - had their new production OC75s in it initially, these sounded crap imo, so i upgraded to original '75 and 2G381s - sounds fine now, much more gain than my one, a bit darker also.

*** - got this in trade from a forum member out of curiosity, last year. Nick Browning version, second batch I think. Had the input and output jacks the wrong way round, and two extra capacitors, presumably to tame it (!! - i guess this was made after Steve Giles left!) So, a bit messed up, but after i removed the extra caps it sounded like a Mk1 should - it does has an OCsomething and the 'narrow G' 2G381As - the sound is less sharp, and darker again than the other two, more FZ-1-like, and noisier at higher attack levels. Least fave of the bunch, but it has its own thing, I do play it, so hanging onto it for now, different flavours! I changed the knobs and on/off switch.

Last is Stu's mighty Supa Mk1 - sounds midway between mine and the VPW, so in other words: great!

Thanks! Quite modest compared to the rest of the thread. Mk1s are my fave fuzz in the winter, but in the warmer weather it’d be FZ-1s!
