Yep, I am the proud owner/abuser of what I belive might be the only Ge Meathead out there. It's a one-knobber and sounds absolutely beastly. Forget the stock smooth gain, this is a grumbly, rumbling raspy fuzz with a stomach-punching low end. Very old-school sounding, probably closest thing I've heard to it is a Tonebender, but imagine that with more Sabbath-esque grunt.

Got anyone salivating yet?? :fu:

The only way I'd buy another Deluxe (I have two) would be if Dave did a Ge run. HINT!!!!!!

I'd love to hear a clip of your Ge Meathead, Slomatic, if ever you feel the inspiration.

How about a Ge/Silicon switchable? That would be tops in my book.

Stock smooth gain ? Doesn't sound like a few of my earlier Meatheads. They may be silicon based lifeforms but they're not lacking in low-end or rumbling raspiness :-D I seem to recall that Dave has produced various silicon versions over the years with the distinctive classic Meatheadiness but with additional flavours and textures. Although as a veggie I don't usually use meaty as an description

I could spring for a Ge Meathead 1 Knobber. I freakin' love germainium. Those, I assume, would be less labor intensive for Dave than other custom designs. Any sound clips of the Ge meathead available?

I too would describe the Si Meathead gain (which I like) as "smooth" relative to my tastes, but that's probably because my fuzz-texture scale zeros more to the "grumbly" side (a la 1965). Case in point, I have a Mayo that I call smooth but a Fender Blender that I do not call smooth. I would not call the Si Meathead "very smooth" however.
