Maybe they just made three prototypes and sold the one featured in the ad.
Condolences, the bums lost!

I think that's about as likely as there only being 2 of those sexy enclosure Rotosound MKII's in existence.Laundromat wrote:Maybe they just made three prototypes and sold the one featured in the ad.

so i had the pedal open, enjoying the fumes of the antique electronics since i can't whip out the guitar at 2AM, and under the light i found a "907" (maybe "507") on both of the pots. 90th week of 1967? or maybe the 9th ;)
isn't that kind of weird in the whole timeline thing? i thought the Sola Sound built Supa Fuzzes (MKI and MKII) were all in 1966 which would mean this box was born at the same time that they were doing regular ones...
just throwin' that out there. if those numbers are the dates that is

507 sounds much more likely. We know they bought some pots in late '67/early '68, as Stu's Vox MKII has 457 codes.
Pot codes as late as that do give that unit a whole new twist. From what I know about MKIIs I'd think they would have been out of the red Piher resistors, Wima electrolytics and even OC75s by the time they got that batch of pots. Maybe it was lying about partially assembled for a while. But why? They certainly would have had the pots.
And with all that rubber tubing it matches the style of the units that appear to have been made at an earlier point.

Everything is transitional.
