I could be wrong but i think the white dots are the mil spec version...?1bottlerocket wrote:THis may have been answered, what is the difference between the white and red dot NKT's
given that the NKT 275's are just not available to the mere mortals, would you say that the OC84 would be a solid replacement? better than 7003's?The Captain wrote:All the germ models had NKT275's. I wasn't happy with the NKTOC84 loaded units so they were pulled and switched to the NKT275's before they went out into the world. The picture shown there with the 84's is the prototype pedal.Coolhand78 wrote:did all the germanium head buzzes have NTK's? or were there
some that had other transistors in them? OC84's?

thanks heaps for that, if its not too much trouble could you please point me in the right direction as to the 84's? ie. brand, gain and leakage values? sorry if thats asking too much i just really wanna get as close as i can, i've found my builder, so just need to work out the details...The Captain wrote:As long as the gain range is in the right ball park, yes. When I say I wasn't happy, I had an original Arbiter unit to hand and was being overly critical about what I was hearing. I'd say the 84 over the 7003's but again, totally depends on the gain, leakage and possibly even the brand and date of production of said transistors.
