I'll record a little shoot-out of the three. I carefully tweaked the trimpots in each of them as and when they came in to sound exactly as best they could, but nevertheless, they all still sound quite different to one another. The oldest one has a really jagged and primordial sound. I can't actually dial out the gating from this particular pedal without introducing some weird background slow throbbing oscillation. #103 I've had for 8 years now(!) and it's just as awesome as when I first scored it. It's bright and angry and also flexible. #983 came to me completely dead, and it's really only by the stupid virtue of having a reference pedal to compare against that I was able to identify the issue (tl;dr, a very specific resistor was broken and had to be carefully replaced. #983 is also super high gain, but it sounds by far the smoothest of the three — it almost comes into Big Muff kind of smoothness. All three still have that very characteristic smeared kind of movement in the sustain of notes and double-stops though.

The earliest one (#46) is a recent acquisition, and I'm gonna break it down in the near future to see if it actually needs some fixing. It sounds super fuzzy, which I suppose is exactly what one would expect from this beast. If there's something not quite right with it, then it certainly sounds good enough to fool someone who doesn't have the luxury to compare against two others.

Can't believe I just typed up all of that pretentious waffle :smashed:

Haha sorry my bad. I hate it when people ask me how pedals sound and I have try and describe it without sounding like a fanny :hihi:

Thanks for the rundown though, it’s good that they are pretty different from each other, makes searching for more worthwhile

Such a great fuzz. I still cherish my Ghost Warm Jet V, but have never been close to one OG, let alone three!
