My friend recently purchased a Vox Tone Bender on eBay, but this particular circuit in unfamiliar to me. Is it even a legit circuit, or does anyone have any information on this?

Thanks.

Silicon fuzz similar/same to the JHS Fuzz (blue plastic enclosures) yes? Let me look for pictures...

You're right. The layout looks pretty close to the JHS/Jen FZ-III pedal. I have no idea what this one sounds like though. He sent me the pictures after he bought it, but it didn't look like any other Vox Tone Bender I'd ever seen before.

Okay. After doing some more research with that bit of information, I ended up coming across an old post from this forum mentioned on another forum. I guess this particular Tone Bender variant was made in the mid to late 1970s by Jen for Vox.

Thanks for your help.

You can always rely on the guys on here for the best fuzz info. I learnt much of what I know about fuzz pedals on here - and I still know next to nothing compared to most of the D*A*M dudes !

Replacing the .01 caps with .1's really opens these up...
