Batteries in pedals

Like most of us here I own several fuzz boxes all loaded with batteries. Some have been in for years. Do you take the batteries out your fuzz boxes or leave them in?
Is there much chance of battery leakage these days, maybe esp with the cheap shitty batteries we put in our fuzzes?
:coffee:

Take them out when not using them for a while. It's just a habit for me. Comes from having too nany nice flashlights and radios ruined by leaky batteries.

definitely take them out, the ones with the drawers are handy as you only need to pull them out a bit so saves a lot of fucking about

Tbh I just leave em in.
Never had any problems plus a dying battery can sound great

I’ve always just left them in. Never considered they could fuck shit up, might have to have a rethink.

i have always left them in also - once or twice they have fucked up the battery snap if they're in pedals I forgot about, but nothing worse than that. AAs can be a pain in the Fuzztones, they are more prone to leakage so I keep an eye on them, but still leave them in.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a 9v leak. I just leave em in.

Got some lovely corrosion in my Pigdog FZ-1 thanks to the AAs though...

Square 9v are pretty good at not leaking but I take them out if I’m not going to use it for a while. I’ve had one leak but was lucky it didn’t mess and wreck anything.
