Thanks Ian! Yep, I could go the head route too, as I have a great little 1x12 pine cab with an old Tungsten driver that sounds great. Hmm... gonna look at that Mini mat
And thanks Electric Warrior! That Class 5 sounds great with the plexi mod! Is that common for these? Off to research some more... thanks again for the input chaps
probably not the gain monster you are lookin for but I picked up a cheap silver face champ and run it on an external 2x12” cab…great neutral pedal platform and my favorite daily driver
Swart makes an absolutely incredible 5watt single 6V6 (or 6L6) amplifer with reverb and trem. I’ve used mine on so many different recordings. Such a lovely, thick, luscious sounding amplifier. Can grind out nicely when cranked as well.
Cheers Freed and Redeye! Both look really cool, those Swarts look amazing! But beyond the current budget. Shannon (Telesoul) has hit me up with great option that is a point to point local build that is well within budget and looking like it could be the goer!
I've been using a Fender Bronco as my go-to small amp for the past 10 years or so.
It's basically a Vibro champ running on slightly elevated voltages.
Compact little amps that pack of lot of tone and work great with pedals!
Champ prices have skyrocketed, but the Bronco might still be within budget
