When I ordered mine, I asked them to put both the switches in so that when they're both up, the amp's off, switches down, we're rockin'! ;)My 1224 is wired like that too
I think they still use JJ's as the standard valve, Jeff said that they were the best, most consistent production valves out there. The guts of any Matamp are a work of art in themselves! :)
