JHS "HORNBLOWER ACCORD-O-MIX"
Some kind of messed up pre-amp
Pots are all coded 5__7 & 6__7
Tranny T1AO2 718
COuld be '67 or '77 - I'm guessing the earlier date as the tranny is identical to the one in my first Zonk Machine
Told you it was weird!! as I wrote on "Decade" seems to be some equivalent to an "add on
Top Boost " unit for amps - though I guess Bass amps in this case - though sounds interesting with regular guitar..

JHS TREBLE BOOSTER & JHS BASS BOOSTER
saw these had already been schematic-ed on some of the diy sites :)
Save you going to my site..
Bass one sounds remarkably nice on regular 6 stringers - Treble one is very nice too but both lacking any way
to push it down makes you rely on the guitar volume control - as its a fair old boost - trouble with that is it can
take the edge off other (particularly fuzz) pedals in-line - but gives one hell of a BOOST on hand when needed!!
G
btw - too late now but I'll do the Zonk Machines - Shatterboxes and Zonk 2's tomorrow (or in next few days - as Im away in the morning til wed and unsure of what links I'll have available)
SORRY about big pics - they are optimised for elsewhere and it's way too late to fiddle about with them. ~g~

Re: JOHN HORNBY SKEWES & CO - JHS (Data Dump)
OK - even though I'm on a plane in just under 5 hrs - here's a few biggies:
Afraid those last 2 will have stretched the page somewhat - like I said theyre for the other place but as Ive said there, they
will all be re-done professionally against a matte white background and nicely lit for the book!!
Also I may be a little less forthcoming with new guts shots for now - maybe not but they'll all be in the book for sure - probably
schematics too - If stuff Ive done here historically was shown fully undressed already then I will follow that as a guide - but a few "surprises"
are always worth looking forward to ---- how's that for blatant product placement
As I get a chance I will check back and add some notes as "edits" alongside the individual pedals - I haven't fully completed the JHS stuff yet
but can give some nice info to go with each for now..

I confess! I couldn't resist. Your photos were just too good to be true. Thanks for sharing them with the world!Graham wrote:JHS TREBLE BOOSTER & JHS BASS BOOSTER

That 'Horn Blower' looks awesome!! It looks like the ultimate booster! I tried that JHS 'Treble Booster' and it was underwhelming to say the least,
considering all the hype and clones on the web. The Horn Blower seems like it would be everything a Rangemaster or any other booster would want
to be having a Bass and Treble 'Volume' and 'Tone' control as well as having a 'Master Volume'. Seems like it would be pretty cool!
Seems like you could dial in some great tones! Been able to jam on it much, How does it sound G...?

Re: JOHN HORNBY SKEWES & CO - JHS (Data Dump)
The hype only exists because Blackmore used it and there was no useable schematic available. There aren't too many clones available. Don't how many of them use the correct cap values.theemadcap1 wrote:+11bottlerocket wrote:You definitely got that right!slomatic wrote:Amazing shots.
