I think this cartridge is driven by that rubber wheel on the edge so I am not sure about adapter...
but you can definetely make whole thing and feed it with standart 1/8" tape.
I'm 97% sure the rubber wheel in the cartridge itself is just a passive spring-mounted wheel, and the drive is from the pinch roller inside the Univox EC units.
I'm thinking this purely on not seeing any holes in the cartages where you could drive the internal wheel and would be mechanically difficult to have a spring-mounted pinch roller as normally the dive side is fixed to the motor, and the mating passive wheel would be spring mounted.
So, think it's passive and just there to tension and guide against the actual powered rotary motion that is driven by the effects unit.....but I could be wrong, it happens a lot!
Sorry english is my second language and idea is not going thru translation sometimes
I meant that in the machine there is metal capstan which directly drives rubber wheel more or less like in 8track cartridge.
MC is driven by reel itself so I cannot think of a solution to adapt it

Ahhh, yes now I understand now!
With endless cassettes (the type that uses one reel of tape and is used in answer machines), they also don't have a drive gear in the middle of the tape spool, the same as these cartages, they just use the pinch roller of the machine.

Here's this for now. Looks like the dimensions are 85mm x 70mm x 12mm. Can crack it open in a bit. Also if you need any measurements from a delay unit these go in, I can provide. If you click through to Flickr you can view the full size images.
These measurements would give me everything I need to make a dummy cartridge to send to someone for test fitting. That would be the hardest part of the project.

Thanks dude! super helpful.....guess I better make one now!
Edit:
Sorry, one last thing, the height of these, and is the echo unit slot keyed so that even matters or is it just a rectangle shaped shot that just holds the cartages by the two dimples on the side?

The slot in the unit is keyed so the cart cant be inserted upside down, yeah.
The slot:
The cart bay from the inside of a unit:
And the cart key. From this angle the key cut is 2mm tall and 2.5mm wide

wow man! what is this material? loving that smooth off-white colour!
That's just a render in the computer (need a place holder of the shell while I work on the internals). But, the colour is based on the Elegoo skin tone UV resin.
