I've got the tinkering madness again and i was thinking about getting a 'scope, because it's no longer enough for me to hear fuzz, I want to see it too! Has anyone used one of the cheap hand-held ones on ebay/amazon? There are the super cheap ones in kit form (I'm ignoring those), but also ones that look like DMMs, that cost about £20 in the UK, this type:

Re: anyone use a pocket size oscilloscope?
I used one a bit when I was building a few pedals and found it a decent investment. I gave it away when I stopped building but now I'm getting the building bug again I'll probably invest in another. For things like drives and fuzzes I think they're ace for quickly getting an idea of things like where and when a signal is clipping. I compared it with a "proper" oscilloscope and the one I had was not super accurate or super sensitive. I think though, for me, it being only single channel was the biggest drawback. For the price (I think I've seen them for under £15) I don't think you can go wrong. The sub-£10 signal generators are also pretty useful.
