Balls VIP-40. The VIP is for Vox/Plexi and is a sort of taking a JTM/JMP/5F6A approach to the AC-30 TB. It's kinda like an AC-30 except both brilliant and normal channels are "top-boost-ed" and it has a linked input like a jumpered plexi. Separate normal and brilliant volume controls let you blend the two channels as desired. No Vox-style cut control because its irrelevant in this format. Cathode biased and no negative feedback to retain that Vox feel. This is a 40 watt version using 2 EL34s. Sounds killer and super fun to play.

Couple more builds coming along.

Doing seafoam green 50s style tele with maple fretboard

Also doing a Tahitian Coral Jazzmaster with matching head stock.

Both come will have lollar pickups and lollar spec pots. I’m quite smitten the lollar pots, never touched a tone pot in my life other than to turn it to 10 however the taper on these is very usable.

Any hoo hope you dig, should be done in a couple of weeks.

Well they don’t make them but they are made to their spec. Great for knocking off some of that harsh fender top end.

Excellent! The choice of resistors suggests to me that you've also finally come around regarding the authenticity/originality of the germanium Treble Booster in Sweden? :badteeth:

:oldgrin: One value different than the Swedish unit that I reserve the right to be dubious about! went with 2.2K on the emitter, over the Swedish 1K found on the silicon units :wink2:
