The one with SFT will probably be more raspy. I am still obssesed with Philip's 1966 clip and Dave said that it was recorded probably with one with two OC76s.

Of course I love my new 1966, but the curiosity is killing me :hihi:

The scores have been epic, I won't kid you on that one but the prices are all top-shelf, I assure you they haven't been coming cheap. :bong2:

I have some feelers out but nothing yet. A lot of the nicer and older Japanese guitars have been snatched up and are sitting in closets or show up on a web page, not for sale.

I have been playing a parts-o-caster for the last couple years that is hard to put down. The tone is just how I like it and the neck is a full 1" C, there aren't too many strats floating around with massive necks and I have taken a liking to the one I have now. I am not looking too hard but if the right thing comes along I will more than likely snatch it up.

Sadly, people are also starting to forge old Japanese guitars, if you can believe that. Some of the old Greco and Tokai models have reached stupid prices so the counterfeit gang in China has caught the scent.

it would be so cool if we could line up all of the different 1966 DAM pedals
with all the different transistor 'line ups' and do one big 1966 demo to see
the actual tone differences between them. :marx:

To be honest, I'd be surprised if many people could tell much of a difference. Surely some will sound noticeably different, but on the whole I bet it would all start to sound pretty similar.
Side-by-side makes it easier to tell a difference and I can hear subtle differences between the models I have and that usually occurs at the higher attack settings. Yes, it does start to sound similar after awhile though.
